Symptoms alone aren’t enough. We confirm with a blood test, typically drawn in the morning, and your physician interprets the results alongside your symptoms and history.
When prescribed and monitored by a physician, TRT is a well-established treatment. Regular lab work lets your physician track your levels, blood count and other markers, and adjust your plan if needed.
Testosterone therapy can reduce sperm production. If you’re planning to have children, tell your physician. Alternatives such as enclomiphene may be more appropriate.
Many men notice changes in energy and mood within a few weeks, while changes in body composition take a few months. Everyone responds differently.
You don’t need private insurance, but you do need a valid Canadian health card. The VeyroMD Care Plan is self-pay, and your bloodwork is included free.
Testosterone therapy is not appropriate for everyone. It should not be used by men with prostate or breast cancer, and men planning to conceive should discuss alternatives first. Possible side effects include acne, fluid retention, an elevated red blood cell count, breast tenderness and changes in mood. Your physician reviews your history and monitors your labs throughout treatment.
